Software Woes

Since a substantial part of this blog's readership works in software acceptance testing, I thought I should link to a report about the FBI's software woe's. More here.

UPDATE: Sorry about that Chief. Link fixed.

OK, your first link on FBI's software woes doesn't go anywhere. It just points back to Who Can Really Say. Did you put this bug in on purpose to see if I'd test it? If so, I will add it to the ClearQuest defect tracker, for your later action. The second link was interesting, and fairly correct IMHO. I think the problem is not so much ambition in terms of what people want to do, but how fast they want it done. The author mentions impatience, and that's about right. When programmers program fast, you get more bugs. When testers have to test fast, more bugs get through. Managers need to cool their jets.

I accidentally left the url out of the html for that link. In other words, I created the href link, but didn't insert a url inbetween the quote marks. I guess MT defaults to the host url (in this case, this blog) when that happens.
